“He who wins souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30
To share God’s love with the lost, JESUS Film Harvest Partners (JFHP) equips and supports ministry teams of indigenous people to do evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, by providing tools developed by partner ministries (such as the JESUS Film Project).
JESUS Film Evangelism Teams, groups of 3-5 trained indigenous evangelists, travel throughout remote areas in their home countries, equipped with tools to lead people to Christ. The JESUS Film is the tool most frequently used. The Film is on a variety of devices, such as specialized solar-powered devices or cell phones. Groups gather to watch the Film, hear it in their heart language, and discuss its meaning. The team works with those who accept Christ, discipling the new believers, and matching them with a Christian mentor and/or church to help them continue to be discipled. Believers are encouraged to meet together—join existing churches or start new ones. The team stays in one location for about a month and continues to work with the new believers in churches. They provide a pastor or trained lay leader, often from a “mother church” or district, to shepherd the new believers. Once the church is strong, it is mobilized to evangelize and disciple others.
JFHP is constantly working to maximize the effectiveness of its partnerships, evangelistic tools, discipleship tools, and training. The field has also undergone expansion every year, including a 31% increase in the number of evangelism teams over 2013.
•JFHP generated the following outcomes in 2014:
•606,869 people made a decision to follow Christ
•428,818 of those who made a decision to follow Christ continued to be discipled
•5,780 preaching points (baby church plants) established
